King is COOL!  He’s a big mover with a kind heart.  He tries really hard to please whether it’s under saddle or doing groundwork.  Tarps are still a bit scary, however he really tries hard with a kind, patient handler.  He’s been logging some trail miles lately, seems to really enjoy leading and walking out!  He’s been used in our program, helping teach groundwork and riding to our more advanced students.  Keep an eye out for King- it’s hard to miss him as he’s one of the largest horses in the barn.

King’s sire is the famous BIG BROWN, winner of the 2008 Kentucky Derby and 2008 Preakness Stakes and was named champion 3 year old colt of 2008.  Early in King’s race horse training he suffered a career ending injury to his suspensory ligament.  He has been successfully rehabilitated.  WSH purchased him from a Thoroughbred horse rescue organization in 2016 seeing a lot of potential in this youngster!
